Preface

When you read this day by day account, we will to realize that we were under the rule of the Navy and no time for ourselves, only on days of liberty. Too, we were on an island the circumfrance of 90 miles. When you first came there, you didn't notice it , but the longer you stayed, you realized. There were a lot of clubs for the service, but everything was very expensive - too much so for our pay, but we enjoyed our friends and the natural beauty of the place, and we were very happy.
